New Video by Ross Angeles

Here's a video I made with my friend Ross Angeles. He is a genius. Music by Mooney Suzuki.

Village Voice on the Air

Brilliant wrap up of the US Air Guitar Finals by the Village Voice.

My favorite excerpt: "...Björn Türoque, regarded within the discipline as a sort of Dan Marino/Jay-Z figure: fantastic ability, highly beloved, but never quite able to win the big one, and now prematurely retired..." Ah, so true.

Brilliant Wrap-up of USAG Championships and After Party

Thanks to Dynarite, here's a great summary of all the glory of the championships last week. And even more great photos here.

Rock on!

The Winner of the 2006 US Air Guitar Championships is...

HOT LIXX HULAHAN!

It was a great night for air guitar, ladies and gents. Satanicide got the crowd warmed up, and they were on fire by the time Bjorn (as Ozzy Airborne) and his air band (The Air Conditioners) took the stage to do an anti-war, air demonstration to "War Pigs."

I'm too hungover to write more than this right now. But it was amazing. Hats (and sombreros) off to William Ocean, the NYC champ, who blew away the house in the compulsory round by doing a flip on to a can of soda, crushing it with his back. He then got on the shoulders of a fan and rode through the crowd. This was only to be bettered by Hot Lixx, who ran up to the balcony to hang from the rafters and give a private, insane performance to the judges (including Sonyk-Rok, Vice founder Gavin McInnes and Jason Jones from the Daily show).

More video/photos/pix to come.

Here's a really great wrap up and amazing slide show from GOTHAMIST
